If you’re searching for venues in the Denver area that capture the Tuscany vibe, you will be limited in the options available. Granted, there are some! But the newest Italian-Inspired wedding venue in Colorado has people flocking, swooning, and celebrating! Oceana’s Garden is an incredibly maintained private estate nestled into the base of Boulder, and it provides the perfect setting for your luxury day. The best part about it is that it is a “open” venue, meaning you are free to a-la-carte your favorite vendors into the space. And I got to paint there!
Since the venue is brand new, you will be hard pressed to find actual clients that have gotten married there yet. You will see a lot of “styled shoots”, which are essentially a wedding vendors playground! The vision for the event is created out of the industry’s trend setters and for ours, we went with wildly bold! Incredibly luxurious. Dripping floral arrangements, vintage Spanish veils, and stunning statement pieces. Days like these allow photographers to expand their portfolios and help future couples envision details they may have not thought of otherwise.

Creating a Live Painting
When I get to attend styled shoots as a live wedding painter, it is truly like a play date for my creative soul. In general, there is little expectation of me for what I need to create. Not saying that no one thinks I can do it, just that there is no one person directing the vision of the painting except for myself. On a typical wedding day, the couple are the ones guiding the creative decisions. I create every brush stroke with them in mind, aiming to please and seal their very precious moment. On styled shoot days, I am free to be fully present in the event.
Watching the other professionals who are genuinely artists in their craft is very inspiring to me. When you see someone actively painting, it is very easy to label that one as an “artist”. Yes, in the traditional sense, I am here creating a piece of art. But watching the makeup be applied, she’s an artist! Watching the photographer move and angle and capture, he’s an artist! Watching the DJ curate a collection of sounds to fit the atmosphere, is watching someone create art. And I find being in this environment very exciting to my creative person!
Conclusion
I did not make it far in the painting but thoroughly enjoying painting the bride onto the canvas. She had this incredible skin tone that the makeup artist perfectly complemented with tones that dazzled in the sun. She had a unique, Basque waist dress with flowing veil and a one of a kind purse styled bouquet. While I fully intend on finishing this wonderful piece, for now she stands alone on the canvas. The innovative team behind this shoot are fully worth inquiring of, in my opinion! Thank you for reading and good luck in your endeavors.
