Live Event Painting for Elaine

September 2, 2025

Often times as wedding vendors, we are searching for clients who perfectly match with us. Well, I am so grateful to have connected with an incredible person and her fiancé. Elaine and Rhett were getting married at a Boulder Creek by Wedgewood.. We had been battling weeks of stormy and rainy weather. Would the rain impact this live event painting for Elaine?

After struggling with the rain at a wedding the week before, I took extra precautions to ensure no chances were taken. Nestled next to the stage for an incredible band, I made the choice to stay in one location for the entirety of the event. Typically, I like to move my canvas and easel around for the guests to be able to watch the painting fully develop. v The rain came and went throughout the evening but I stayed dry and in the zone. Elaine wanted a live event painting heavily focused on their first kiss and their florals. They had 2 large porcelain vases booking their aisle entrance mirroring 2 large porcelain stands at the end of the aisle. Both featured booming and luscious florals! With the addition of a large floral arbor, she wasn’t kidding that they went heavy on the flowers.

The painting came along beautifully all night long. When the couple came over to look at it, the Groom, Rhett was particularly struck! This is always one of my favorite things to witness. A groom being in shock. Because so often they are not the primary client that I am communicating with. So they don’t always understand exactly what is in store for them. I could tell by their genuine reactions that my in studio touch ups were going to be minor. Sure enough! They couple loved the painting and in just two weeks it was hanging in their home. All in a days work!
